What Are the Requirements for Cable Routing and Pool Stability During Installation?
We sometimes have customers come to us with concerns on how to connect their pool electrics to their IPS panel, and about their pool not being fully level. As such, we've advised on these concerns below.
How is the electric connected out from the pool and into the IPS panel behind it - there aren’t any holes formed, but does drilling affect the warranty?
The square back of the pool that is pushed up against the IPS wall is not visible once installed. As such, this panel can be drilled through for necessary cable routing.
Drilling through this part of the pool does not affect the warranty.
Why is the pool unstable when sat on the floor - what can be done to prevent this?
The pools are created using a form. This is a hard state mould to ensure that the pools are exactly the same every time they are produced.
The only way the pool can be unstable is if the floor is not 100% level. Even new floors, though appearing level, may have a slight intolerance.
It is very important that the pool is level when installed, otherwise it may not drain properly. If it is too high on one side, water will pool on the opposite side.
If your pool is unstable on the floor, adding 1mm packers to the underneath of the pool (increasing to 2mm/3mm etc. depending on the severity) will address the instability.
Once the packers have been applied to achieve level status, it is recommended to fill the pool with some water, and then drain it to confirm no pooling occurs. Once this has been confirmed, the pool can be siliconed to the floor.
