Temperature Control & Operation
1. Can you manually set the temperature of the CRT cabinet?
Yes. To change the set point, if desired, from the main screen press 'SET'. The screen will show the current set point. Use the arrows to adjust it and press 'SET' again to confirm.
As control is based on measured temperature, rather than heating / cooling power, in
normal circumstances it will not be necessary to change the set point (control temperature) of the controller.
2. What should I do if the cabinet temperature goes outside the +15°C to +25°C range?
The controller is pre-set with an alarm that will sound should the monitored temperature go outside of range for more than 10 minutes. An alarm code will also be displayed - please refer to the user manual to understand the meaning of each code.
To silence the sounder, press the downwards-facing arrow. If the temperature continues to stay outside of temperature range for some time, the sounder will resume (it can be silenced again if required).
Check the ambient environment and ensure the cabinet is not exposed to extremes. If issues persist, contact your supplier.
3. How can I reset the recorded high and low temperatures?
Press and hold the 'HI/LO' button until the screen shows 'HI'. The recorded high and low temperatures will now be reset.
Alarms & Monitoring
4. Can I connect the cabinet to an external alarm system?
Yes, the cabinets include voltage-free closed contacts on the rear of the unit for integration with external alarm systems, if required.
Usage Guidelines
5. Is the CRT cabinet suitable for refrigeration or freezing of products?
No, it is only for maintaining temperatures between +15°C and +25°C.
Installation & Environment
6. What should I do if the cabinet was tilted or laid horizontally during transport?
Wait at least 3 hours after levelling before powering on to allow refrigerant to settle following transport.
7. Is it safe to place the cabinet on carpet or against a wall?
No. Place it on a stable, non-carpeted surface with proper ventilation clearance: 30cm clearance above, 5cm clearance to the sides (or at least 10cm from sources of heat or condensation), 6cm clearance to the rear.
Maintenance & Cleaning
8. What kind of maintenance does the cabinet require?
Regular temperature calibration and servicing is recommended to ensure continued correct operation and so as to avoid reducing the life of the cabinet.
When cleaning the cabinet, use only a light soap solution to clean the internal and external surfaces of the cabinet. Do not use any abrasives or cleaning product containing chlorine or other harsh chemicals, as they can damage the surfaces and the cooling system.
Ensure that the condensate drain (at the bottom of the rear wall, underneath the cooling plate) is clear at all times.
Clean the condenser and the compressor compartment with a vacuum cleaner and a stiff brush to avoid dust build up, which can impair the cooling system and affect the energy consumption and life of the cabinet.
9. How do I perform a manual defrost?
Due to the temperature range of the cabinet, regular frosting of the evaporator plate should not be an issue, however it is possible to perform a defrost cycle.
Should you need to force a defrost, empty the cabinet into other suitable storage. Press and hold 'HI/LO' and 'SET' buttons for 6 seconds until the controller beeps.
The defrost will take approximately 25 minutes. It can be cancelled, by holding 'HI/LO' and 'SET' buttons again for 6 seconds, when the controller will beep.
