General Information
1. What is the maximum safe working load of the chair?
The safe working load is 180kg.
2. How long is the expected service life of the chair?
The chair is designed to operate safely for up to 10 years when used and maintained correctly.
3. Can the chair be used outdoors?
No. It is intended to be used indoors in welfare or healthcare facilities.

4. What should I do before using the chair?
Always disinfect the chair, check that wheels are locked and ensure the patient is supervised during seating or transfer.
5. Is it safe to sit on the armrests?
No. It is advised not to sit on the armrests, other than when they are lowered in-line with the chair seat for patient transfers.
6. Is it safe to sit on the leg rest or backrest?
No. Sitting or applying excess weight on the raised leg rest or lowered backrest may cause damage or accidents.
7. What is the max pressure limit that can be placed on the leg rest?
The max pressure limit of the leg rest is 50kg.
8. What precautions should staff follow during operation?
Inform the patient before adjusting the chair, supervise transfers and avoid trapping cables or body parts between moving sections.
Installation & Setup
9. How should the chair be transported and installed?
Use proper lifting equipment and trained personnel. Install it on a rigid, flat floor with adequate lighting (400 LUX).
10. What comes with the chair on delivery?
The chair, its user manual and any accessories ordered.
Operation & Use
11. How do I adjust the backrest and leg rest?
Depending on the model you order, there are two levers to independently adjust the back and leg rests, or a single synchronized lever to control both at the same time. Always operate with assistance.
12. How do I move the chair safely?
Unlock wheels and push the chair using the rear handle. Avoid slopes above 5% or thresholds above 10mm.
Cleaning & Disinfection
13. How should the chair be disinfected?
Use a water and sodium hypochlorite solution at 1.5%. Follow the chemical manufacturer’s safety instructions.
14. How often should disinfection be done?
Based on facility requirements and product use, but always before patient use.
15. How should the chair be cleaned?
Every 15 days (or as needed), clean metal parts and wheels with soap and water. Never use solvents, benzene or abrasive cleaners.
Maintenance
16. How often should maintenance checks be carried out?
At least once a year, checking screws, wheels, movement and accessories.
17. Who should perform repairs?
Only qualified technicians authorised by GIVAS. Never attempt unauthorised repairs.
