Is eye protection necessary for the baby?

Yes. A certified phototherapy eye protection mask must always be worn to prevent retinal damage.

Who is qualified to operate the device?

Only trained medical personnel under the supervision of a physician are allowed to operate it.


Operation and Usage

How do I turn the device on and off?

Press the ON/OFF switch located on the bottom side of the device. A blue light indicates operation.

Can the lamp be used with a mobile stand?

Yes, an optional mobile stand allows flexible positioning. The lamp can swivel and adjust in height. Always lock wheels and route cables safely.

How can the lamp be configured without the mobile stand?

When not using the mobile stand, the Bilibluelight lamp can be securely configured directly onto the top surface of an incubator using its four integrated micro vacuum cups.

To ensure a safe and stable setup:

  1. Make sure the incubator surface is clean, smooth, dry and free of grease or dust.

  2. The surface must be flat and large enough to hold all four micro vacuum cups, with a tilt of no more than 15°.

  3. Press the lamp evenly and firmly onto the incubator surface until the vacuum cups hold securely.

  4. Gently shake the lamp to confirm it’s firmly attached before switching it on.

💡 Tip: Wiping the vacuum cups with a damp cloth before placement can improve suction.

What happens when the LEDs start flashing for a few seconds at power-on?

This indicates the device has reached 40,000 hours of use and should be replaced.

Is there an integrated timer or other function to help clinicians track treatment time?

No, the only function of the lamp is phototherapy treatment operated by a simple on/off switch.


Cleaning, Disinfection & Maintenance

How should I clean the Bilibluelight?

Use only approved cleaning agents. Wipe with a damp, non-abrasive cloth, then dry. Never submerge the device, use flammable liquids or autoclave it.

How often should the lamp be inspected?

Before each use, verify that:

  • All 24 LEDs illuminate

  • Power cable and housing are intact

If faults are detected, contact customer service.

Is maintenance required?

No regular maintenance is needed, but technical safety checks are recommended. The LED technology is maintenance-free.

What is the warranty period?

The lamp is covered by a 2-year warranty.

Troubleshooting

The lamp does not turn on. What should I check?

  • Ensure the power supply is connected

  • Check the ON/OFF switch

  • Inspect for cable damage

  • If unresolved, contact customer service

The micro suction cups won’t hold the lamp on the incubator. Why?

Possible causes:

  • Dirty or greasy cups → clean them

  • Damaged or brittle cups → replace them

  • Uneven or unsuitable incubator surface

The light is flickering. What should I do?

This may indicate a power supply or internal fault. Contact customer service.
